MEIKO is the first Japanese-singing Vocaloid(Desktop Music Software) to be released by Crypton Future Media in 2004. Sales for her software only picked up in the middle of 2007, and was further increased with the release of Miku's software months later, which jump-started the Vocaloid phenomenon.

When I first got into the Vocaloid fandom, Meiko was not one whose voice nor songs stood out to me. She doesn't seem to have a large fanbase either, which affects the number of Meiko users and songs produced, and thus the fanbase stays small. But as I prodded more into the fandom, I uncovered songs by Meiko users like shu-t P and Peperon P, who were able to manipulate Meiko's voice well and produce tunes that made me start liking her. Her duets with Kaito and Luka are good too so do give them a try! XD
